Adam Ship

Adam Ship is Vice-Chair of McCarthy Tétrault’s National Franchise & Distribution Group, and an associate in the Litigation Group in Toronto.

He advises domestic and international franchise clients across a wide range of industries, on strategic and risk management issues in all areas of franchise-distribution law, including franchise/distribution agreements, statutory disclosure issues, system change management, discontinuation of franchise networks, and dealer terminations and renewals.

His clients include companies in the automotive, quick service restaurant, food & beverage, retail, hospitality, education and telecommunications sectors.

Adam is also Adjunct Professor of franchise & distribution law at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law. He frequently writes and has published widely in this area, and has been recognized for two years running with the Award for Excellence in Franchise Law, given by the Ontario Bar Association. He is also a member of the Canadian Franchise Association’s Legal & Legislative Affairs Committee and the Ontario Bar Association’s Franchise Section Executive.
