Ottawa, Ontario – October 2009 – Retire-At-Home Services, a Canadian Home Health Care company, awarded its 10th franchise this month as it continues to expand its award-winning service across Canada.

“We are proud to have reached this milestone in our company’s growth,” stated Jonathan Martin, Vice President Franchise Development of Retire-At-Home™ LP during the company’s announcement. “2009 has been a tough year for the Canadian economy and we feel privileged to be considered a great business opportunity by the hundreds of Canadians that have applied for our franchises.  Home health care is a growing market, that requires energetic, compassionate people and we have taken our time to find those people that share our vision in providing quality care.”

The Retire-At-Home™ concept, founded in 1994 by Irene Martin, a registered nurse in Ottawa, provides support services to seniors, while helping their family manage the care that is provided.

Although the Canadian economy, and the world economy for that matter, has experienced tremendous losses over the past 18 months, the home health care industry has continued to thrive due to the high demand for its services. “As the population ages and people continue to live longer with chronic diseases, seniors are looking to private agencies to provide a complete solution for their in-home medical needs”, explained Irene Martin. “As an organization, our goal has always been to be part of the health care solution and provide our clients with the care and peace of mind they need.”

Travis Cyr is the company’s newest franchisee in Barrie, Ontario.  At the age of 37, he recently spent his “retirement years” with his wife, helping to manage all her health care needs before her passing.  She suffered from terminal cancer.  “My experience with Corrie’s passing changed my life”, stated Mr. Cyr, “I saw first hand how important it is to have the right people and the right services in place to help patients and their families deal with illness.  Since her passing I'''ve been researching home health care companies and was very excited about the care and quality Retire-At-Home offers.  I’m very proud to be part of this team and looking forward to building a successful business while providing a great service people in my area.”

Home health care is one of the fastest growing industries in North America, and with the Baby Boomers aging, 1 in 4 people will be a senior within the next 20 years.  As the decision–makers and caregivers for their aging parents, Baby Boomers understand the benefits of personalized home health care and are causing the demand to accelerate even today. Retire-At-Home™ has positioned itself perfectly with a franchise model that combines strategic growth for its franchisees with personalized services for its clients.

Each franchisee must complete three weeks of training that is based upon the Retire-At-Home™ system developed over 15 years of growth in Canada.  In 2007, Retire-At-Home™ received its national accreditation through Accreditation Canada and expects its franchisees to attain this accreditation and maintain national standards.
