MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 9 - Unprecedented demand for housing
in
Ontario and the East Coast, along with exceptional corporate
leadership,
prompted RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada to realize the greatest
regional
growth, among all regions worldwide, for RE/MAX International in
2007. The
extraordinary accomplishment earned RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada
the
prestigious and exclusive RE/MAX Region of the Year Award,
presented at the
Annual RE/MAX International Convention held earlier this year in
Las Vegas,
Nevada.
The award was presented to Michael Polzler, Executive Vice
President and
Regional Director, RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada, before an
audience of
several thousand real estate professionals. The honour is bestowed
upon the
region that has experienced the largest net gain in sales
associates. "The accomplishments of 2007 were quite
significant for our organization," says Polzler. "We're confident
that we, at RE/MAX, represent the best that this industry has to
offer, in terms of our people, our
experience and our value proposition. Yet, it is, by far, our
people that
continue to propel us to new heights."
In 2007, RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada's strategic regional
leadership
and recruitment efforts brought almost 500 new agents into the
fold. The
number of offices grew to reach almost 500 in Ontario and Atlantic
Canada.
"Solid economic fundamentals are expected to prop up real estate
activity
once again in 2008," notes Polzler. "Record or near-record momentum
is
forecast in the Atlantic provinces in particular. Given the ongoing
strength
in residential markets, there's no question we are poised to grow
again."
