Habitat for Humanity Canada and PropertyGuys.com officially announced their second run of last year’s The Spring Clean program. This time,seven Habit for Humanity ReStore locations will be connected to PropetyGuys.com franchisees to coordinate with homeowners who are looking to toss household goods over the spring. The goods will be picked up by local PropertyGuys.com franchisees, who will deliver the items to one of the seven ReStore locations. The money raised from selling items to the public at the ReStores is used toward building new homes for those in need. This approach helps Habit for Humanity Canada reach its goals while preventing serviceable items from ending up in a landfill.
According to PropertyGuys.com CEO and President Ken LeBlanc, the franchise is thrilled about the collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Canada. LeBlanc praised the work that the charity does to promote and expand homeownership, and noted that the local community focus is something both entities share as part of their overall vision.
Rob Voisin, National ReStore and Product Services Senior Director, also expressed excitement about The Spring Clean program and the PropertyGuys.com partnership. The product donations from the PropertyGuys.com clients will help Habit for Humanity Canada build more homes for Canadians in need, per Voisin, and raise awareness about the work the organization does.
The Spring Clean program was spearheaded by Jason Schlegel, an Ontario PropertyGuys.com franchisee. Schlegel felt the natural alignment of the two brands would only encourage homeowners to donate more and increase awareness of what Habit for Humanity Canada does for local communities across the country at its ReStores.
