July 20, 2011 (Toronto) – Pizza Pizza announces the launch of Italian sandwiches, a new addition to its diverse line up of menu options. Customers can choose from four sandwich options that include Spicy Italian Sausage, Meatball Marinara, Chicken Cutlet (all white meat) and Veal all made with a home style sauce and served on an oven toasted artisan ciabatta bun. The new menu items will be available at all traditional Pizza Pizza locations across Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
“Pizza is a traditionally Italian dish, so in we’re returning to our roots by offering our take on traditional Italian sandwiches,” said Pat Finelli, Chief Marketing Officer for Pizza Pizza. “Our customers all have unique tastes and preferences and we’re always striving to offer a variety menu options that appeal to everyone. When our customers speak, we listen.”
To make it truly authentic, customers can add Italian marinated peppers to their order. Unique to Pizza Pizza, the new Italian sandwiches can be delivered – a choice that customers won’t have with many other large chains. The new Italian sandwiches join recent additions to the menu including Chipotle-based menu items, newly-prepared tossed and sauced chicken wings and a variety of pasta dishes.
