TORONTO, ON – Pizza Pizza is wrapping up National Pizza Month with a good cause. Pizza Pizza’s Slices for Smiles promotion will do just that… bring lots of smiles!
For the next few weeks, Canada’s leading pizza chain is offering special discounts on its most popular pizzas to raise more than $150,000 for 14 Canadian children’s hospitals throughout Canada.
Participating in the fundraiser is easy. Customers can contribute by walking into any participating Pizza Pizza restaurant and purchasing a medium pepperoni pizza for $4.99 from October 14 to November 10, or a 10” half smile pizza for only $2 from October 14 to 27. In addition, those who purchase the popular $4.99 medium walk-in deal will receive a $10 Toys "R" Us Save & Crave card, and a portion of the proceeds from these two menu items will be donated to Children's Miracle Network.
“We’re always trying new things,” said Pat Finelli, CMO of Pizza Pizza. “These discounts, smile pizzas and a donation to a very worthy children’s cause is a winner, and it’s the one promotion that we’re delighted to present as part of our National Pizza Month celebrations.”
“Everyone loves pizza,” said John Hartman, Chief Operating Officer, Canada for Children’s Miracle Network. “The proposition is simple. We’re asking people to enjoy a good deal, a pizza with a smile to help us raise critical funds and awareness for our local children’s hospitals.”
In addition to the proceeds, Pizza Pizza invites customers to top off their purchase with a donation on orders placed by phone, online, in-store or through the Pizza Pizza mobile ordering apps, which is now on Android. This fundraising recipe seems to be working well. Since launching the Slices for Smiles program in 2007, Pizza Pizza and its customers and partners have raised more than $1 million for children’s charities.
All traditional Pizza Pizza restaurant locations across Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia provinces will participate in Slices for Smiles. Funds that are raised locally will stay in the community to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network member hospital in that region.
