FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 27, 2008 (Vancouver, BC) - For the second year in a row, Nurse Next Door, Canada’s fastest growing homecare franchise system has been recognized as one of BC’s top employers through BCBusiness Magazine’s annual Best Companies to Work for in BC award program. Ranking in the eighth spot, Nurse Next Door again was the only healthcare organization to make the list.
“Making the coveted top 10 list for the second year in a row is really special to us,” said Nurse Next Door co-founder, John DeHart. “It shows that we are consistently living up to our core value of ‘admire people’ and doing what we need to do to attract and keep the right people.”
“It is especially meaningful to make the list this year in turbulent economic times,” added fellow co-founder, Ken Sim. “While other companies have been rolling back on employee initiatives and even having to layoff staff, we are able to go against the norm and further focus on creating a great workplace. Our latest initiative has been to roll out 5-weeks paid vacation to all full-time staff.”
Despite a very competitive industry, Nurse Next Door has been able to both attract and retain talent through innovative methods. A great company culture, open book financials, profit sharing, employee stock options, flexible schedules, a specially designed ‘Mommy Shift’, and most recently, 5-weeks vacation have all contributed to the company’s success.
With 21 franchise locations across Canada, Nurse Next Door is continuing to expand across the country, bringing its award-winning people practices to communities nation-wide.
“We want to bring our recipe for success to communities across the country as we continue to select top franchise partners to deliver great homecare services to their local seniors,” concluded DeHart.
