Established in 2005 by Nuttha Goutier, an advocate of traditional Thai wellness, and Jacques Goutier, a registered massage therapist, Sabai Thai Spa is expanding beyond its corporate-owned locations with the launch of a franchising program. After nearly two decades of growth as a staple in their current market, Sabai Thai Spa is looking to bring their brand of wellness to broader markets.
With offerings of treatments specifically designed to promote relaxation, balance, and overall well-being, Sabai Thai Spa was founded by two visionary entrepreneurs. Both are dedicated to the healing aspect of Thai massage, and to creating a sanctuary of wellness and relaxation.
"Nuttha has been urging me for years to consider franchising," says Jacques Goutier, who states they were meticulous in their preparations. "We probably overdid it on the preparation side," he adds, recognizing that now is the right time for growth. With franchise inquiries are now coming in from across BC, Alberta, southern Ontario, as well as the United States, Sabai Thai Spa is speaking with interested prospective franchisees who share their dedication to wellness and Thai-inspired rejuvenation. Now, prospective franchisees can combine their commitment to wellness with an excellent business opportunity.
Nuttha moved to Canada from Thailand in 2001 and immediately noticed a gap in the wellness market, leading her to open Sabai Thai Spa in Vancouver in 2005. Today, she and Jacques operate seven corporate-owned locations. By expansion through franchising, the couple plans to establish locations in street-front properties of about 2500 square feet — a fit for what Jacques describes as "nurturing the neighborhood."
The Sabai Thai Spa franchise attracts interest from a broad range of individuals, couples, and entrepreneurs. Business experience is beneficial, however Jacques emphasizes that the right mindset is key. "First-time franchisees can learn to run a spa if they're committed to the concept," he states. "The real challenge lies in managing the team, including registered massage therapists."
Sabai Thai Spa's clientele covers all age groups, including an equal number of male and female guests. The spa offers an array of treatments, including massages, facials, and the spa's exclusive line of wellness products, Sabai Essentials. The Thai people incorporate massage into their daily lives, blending physical health with a rich social tradition. "Massage is more than just treating an injury; it's a holistic approach to wellness," says Jacques, echoing a sentiment Nuttha believes passionately.
Now with the franchise program underway, Sabai Thai Spa is ready to bring its unique wellness experience to new communities across North America, driven by its founders' shared vision of holistic rejuvenation.
