North America's largest single-brand salon, Great Clips, is pleased to announce it will be coming to Oakville,
Ontario this winter. While there are more than 2,600 Great Clips salons
throughout North America, this will be the first Great Clips salon in the
Toronto area.
The walk-in, no-appointment salon is expected to open by the end of the
year at the Shoppes on Dundas at Dundas Street East and Prince Michael Drive.
Oakville's first Great Clips franchisees are Anne Marie Brereton and Andres
Basanta of Cambridge, Ontario.
The husband and wife team decided three years ago that they were
interested in investing in a business. "We specifically wanted an opportunity
that would provide significant investment and still allow us to continue with
our current careers." After careful research, the duo found that the Great
Clips model matched their entrepreneurial plans.
Ranked the 23rd fastest-growing franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine in
2007, Great Clips is consistently ranked as one of the top franchise
opportunities. Over 65 percent of Great Clips franchise owners reinvest in the
brand by opening more than one salon; Brereton and Basanta plan to follow
suit. With plans to open five additional salons in the Toronto and Hamilton
area in the next three years, they're looking forward to bringing Great Clips
to neighborhoods throughout the city. "We're just getting started," Basanta
says.
Elsewhere in Canada, Great Clips has salon locations in Calgary, Edmonton
and Vancouver.
