Canadian franchise The Garage Door Depot has recently added three new franchisees: Desmond Keating, Sandy Martin and Cathy Gordon. Keating has acquired the franchise for Fort McMurray area in Alberta, Canada. Martin and Gordon will own franchise locations in Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Keating was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and is excited to serve his community of Fort McMurray and surrounding markets.“One of the reasons I acquired The Garage Door Depot franchise is that it brings a greater degree of professionalism and integrity to the industry," he said. "It’s a great fit with my long-term goals and I look forward to being part of the growth of the company.”

Patrick Rutten, vice president of franchising said, "We look forward to Desmond’s input, and his assistance to help grow the franchise network throughout Canada. He will be a pleasure to work with."

Martin made the following comments: “After relocating to the Halifax area, my wife Cathy and I wanted to look for a franchise. As we were building our house and looking for garage doors, we found it to be one of our biggest challenges. We spoke with five other garage door suppliers. Pricing, delivery and completion was unacceptable and it took close to three months just to complete.

“As we were searching and meeting with prospective franchises we came across The Garage Door Depot model. I was so impressed with Patrick Rutten and his presentation and confidence that it propelled us to start the process. While taking in all the training and information to be successful in a competitive market, I knew Dean, Dennis and Patrick had a perfect model for Cathy and me to bring to the east coast of Canada.”

The Garage Door Depot was founded to give consumers, garage door dealers and service companies a place to go to view, select and purchase garage doors and related products.
