(Ottawa, Ontario, September 15, 2008) Concierge Home Services, the full service household management company, is taking action to help alleviate the growing hunger problem in Ottawa. They launch their annual Food Drive today. “The need of The Ottawa Food Bank grows every year. Our city has so much success and opportunity, yet there are increasing numbers who rely on the Food Bank just to get by” comments Rebecca Page, President of Concierge Home Services. There are 43,000 people in Ottawa who visit the Ottawa Food Bank every month. About 35% of those are children.

Peter Tilley, the Executive Director of the Ottawa Food Bank, says “We are incredibly happy to have Concierge Home Services on board for yet another food collection initiative this season. We really appreciate Concierge’s efforts to bring their food drive to the wide community and would encourage everyone to join the fight against community hunger.”

Canned food, cereal, juice boxes, and baby supplies are among the items in high demand. The company has arranged for pickups from the homes of their clients during their regularly scheduled service visits during a two-week period, from October 6 until October 17.

Due the community-centred culture of the company, this year the Rockland Food Centre will also benefit. “There is a 50% increase in demand at the Centre in the autumn, when seasonal work comes to an end.” notes Lyne Shackleton, owner of the East Orleans-Rockland office of Concierge Home Services.

Donations made made payable to The Ottawa Food Bank may also be sent to their Head Office at 302-1376 Bank Street, Ottawa, K1H 8N6. Concierge Home Services provides a full range of household services such as housecleaning, window washing, carpet cleaning, home checks, and pet sitting. They serve the growing niche of homeowners who are outsourcing home maintenance tasks.
