British Columbia-based Clancy’s Meat Co. has entered the Ontario market with its first store in London earlier this month. The new store is owned by well known London native Mark Edmundson (pictured above), a former professional hockey player and financial advisor.
Clancy’s Meat Co. offers a wide range of high-quality fresh and frozen meats and prepared meals. “We have fresh foods that distinguish us from some competitors and single servings if you don’t want the big boxes,” Edmundson told the London Free Press.
Clancy's second east coast location will be in Whitby, a suburb east of Toronto, opening next week. The owner Dan Jeffers is excited to be the newest member of the Clancy's franchising family.
Since its founding in 1997, Clancy’s Meat Co. has grown to eight locations in British Columbia and two in Alberta. Its expansion into Ontario is led by Brian Davy, one of M&M Meat Shops’ first franchisees. Davy was named Clancy’s Vice President of Franchise Development in March 2011, in charge of franchisee recruitment and site selection for all new stores in Ontario.
According to Clancy’s Meat Co. CEO Paul Monger: “Brian is acutely aware of what the Ontario market is demanding and our stores will showcase what we do best – supply consumers with the quality fresh and frozen products they want and provide the kind of personalized service they just can’t get anywhere else.”
