October 14, 2007 - CENTURY 21 Canada is pleased to announce the change of ownership of CENTURY 21 Millennium Inc. New co-owners Joanne Evans and husband, Martin Minda, have over 31 years of combined experience in the real estate industry and are prominent and involved members of the Brampton and Wasaga Beach communities.
Having opened the office in 1997 with Peter McDermott, it was a natural transition for Evans to take over full ownership of the office after McDermott’s recent retirement. The office has had a strong 10 years of growth and Evans and Minda look forward to the future of CENTURY 21 Millennium Inc.
“We pride ourselves on our enthusiasm and it’s contagious around our office. Real estate is a great career that rewards the effort that is put in. We are very involved in inspiring our sales representatives to have enthusiasm about their goals both professionally and in their personal lives with their families,” says Evans.
Evans, who has served various Brampton Real Estate Board committees for 17 years and was board president in 2004, says, “Working with the BREB gave me a sense of community and made me more aware of the issues in this area that affect housing, the neighborhood and ultimately the families who live here.”
“The philosophy of giving is one which is embraced by everyone on our team. We have a program called ‘Caring for Kids’ that provide Christmas necessities for up to 25 kids and their families. We also provide "Coats for Kids" over the winter to any school that requests help and bus passes or food certificates for families that experience difficult times. Each year we provide scholarships for three students who have been accepted by College or University but are financially challenged and need that extra help to get started.”
“Earlier in September, CENTURY 21 Millennium Inc. participated in "The TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup" in Wasaga Beach as an event sponsor. We organized 180 local residents to help clean the longest freshwater beach in the world and achieved a Blue Flag for Wasaga Beach.”
The Blue Flag is a recognized designation awarded for meeting the environmental criteria established by Environmental Defense.
“It was very rewarding for our team to contribute to a cause held so dearly by the community,” says Evans.
CENTURY 21 Millennium Inc. was also recently presented with the Readers Choice Award by local newspaper, The Guardian, which named it the Best Real Estate office as voted by the community for the 7th year in a row.
