Boomerang Kids, an Ottawa-based children’s resale franchise operation, has finalized the sale of its last corporately owned store in Westboro. The sale was completed following a weekend during which same stores sales increased over 25% from a year ago.
“We are thrilled to be handing off the Westboro location to such a strong, capable franchisee, “ said Heather Meek, CEO of Boomerang Kids Franchise Corporation, “She takes over Boomerang Kids in Westboro at a time when managing growth and franchise business expansion is a key focus for our entire management team.”
Boomerang Kids began franchising only one year ago and has since sold a total of nine franchises. This includes the three previously owned corporate locations in Kanata, Orleans and on Bank Street in Old Ottawa South. They also have three locations opening in the next two months. Boomerang Kids Barrhaven is opening towards the end of September and Boomerang Kids Gatineau will be opening at the end of October. Boomerang Kids will soon have its first franchise in the Greater Toronto area when Boomerang Kids Vaughan opens in mid-October.
The company is also in the process of rolling out ecommerce capabilities and will be the only children’s resale franchise to offer fully-integrated in store and online shopping experiences. The newest franchisee says its strong brand, connection to the community and investments in innovation are a key part of its success.
