BC LIVE Music Preservation Society is hosting an elegant “Osborn Twins Benefit Soiree” Saturday, June 14th, at the Masonic Hall at 1495 West 8th and Granville. The fundraising Benefit is for twin baby girls that lost their Mother 2 months ago to the superbug C. difficile while in the hospital after undergoing routine surgery for the removal of an ovarian cyst. All monies raised will benefit the twins. The money raised will be going to a Nanny/educational trust fund.

Deb's story as published by CBC in March/08:

General admission is $40 each and guests are encouraged to dress to impress in the themed color choice of turquoise, as this was one of Debrah’s favorite colors. Guests will enjoy an elegant evening of soft Rock, Blues, Motown & Jazz classics hosted by MC/Singer Joe Chappel, featuring Thedda Marie and the Trademarke band with musicians Glenna Powrie on Keyboards, Don Powrie on Drums, Lee Oliphant on Bass, David Say on Sax, Olaf de Shield on Guitar, and surprise celebrity drop in musical appearances by Mick Dalla-Vee, Don Osborn, Steve Soucy, Julie Blue, Amanda Allyn-Lince, and others. Entertainment from the Wild West Cancan Dancers, Celebrity look-alike Paris Hilton, and other entertainers will round out the evening’s fun. Pre-Dance appetizers, Silent & LIVE Auctions and several fun fundraising activities are planned to really make this a benefit to remember and raise the much-needed Nanny funds for the Twins.

For those companies/families interested in supporting this endeavor: (a heartfelt thanks in advance)

Corporate Sponsorship: $700 for 8 seats per table
Your company logo will be on all promo material, poster, postcards, event brochure, websites, you get 8 tickets to the event, company/family name on centre piece on table, and a chance to showcase something from your company valued at $100 or more at the auctions, LIVE or silent. (please send logo immediately for guaranteed inclusion in all promotional materials)

Auction Donation: (mention on website and in event program)
showcase something from your company valued at $100 or more at the auctions, LIVE or silent

This Pre-Benefit with 300-350 in attendance hopes to raise the initial funding of $25,000 or more through public and private attendance as well as through the above sponsorship from businesses that sponsor tables of 8 for $700. The LIVE and silent auction items are also being donated by generous businesses wishing to get involved in raising additional funding over and above admission and table sponsorship.

A larger Benefit is in the planning stages that will have 800-1000 guests in attendance. Members of the music industry, close to Don and Debrah Osborn will gather the first week of September to show their love and support and raise additional funds needed for the twins. The location will be announced at a later date. Hopes are to raise the first 3 years worth of nanny fees required for the twins. Several key people in the music industry are assisting in this endeavor.

The entertaining evening plans to be a welcomed spirit lifter for Don Osborn, family and friends and an educational eye opener that will bring to light preventative measures that can be taken to avoid the tragedy that happened around Debrah Rafel Osborn's passing. Hopes are we all learn how to empower ourselves in little ways when dealing with understaffed and overworked hospitals and the preventative measures that can be taken to assist in avoiding further tragedies such as this. In Loving Memory of Debrah Rafel Osborn.

We look forward to having you share this magical evening with us!
