Oct 04, 2013

COBS Bread (BD Canada Ltd.), Canada’s largest bakery chain comprised of over 55 franchised and 20 corporately owned bakeries is set to grow its bakery count by adding approximately 25 new franchised bakeries to its network before the end of the 2014 calendar year.

“COBS Bread is the local baker in many communities across Canada,” says John Gilson, Vice President of COBS Bread. “We have been encouraged and supported by the communities in small markets and recognize the opportunity to continue this growth.”

This expansion will help to strengthen mid-size communities by providing business ownership and employment opportunities to locals. “I have always felt the support of COBS Bread in every decision I have made,” says Shelley Snure, franchisee of the Terminal Park bakery in Nanaimo, BC. “From Leslie and Roger Gillespie[joint CEOS], to every Area Manager I have had that has helped me grow into the business woman I am today.”

COBS Bread is focusing its search for franchisees in specific communities across Western Canada and has scheduled a multi-city road show. A franchise representative will be available to set up meetings starting in Northern Alberta on Monday, October 7th and finishing on Vancouver Island on November 21st. Complete details of the roadshow can be found at
