Quebec-based franchisor MTY Group has announced plans to acquire Yuzu Sushi.
MTY, the powerful franchise corporation has entered an agreement to purchase the sushi restaurant brand Yuzu Sushi, a fast-growing food franchise with over $40 million in annual sales.
Yuzu Sushi currently has over 130 units that include 68 restaurants, 30 express counters and 34 grocery outlets with all points of sales franchised.
The Yuzu Sushi network presence is mainly in Quebec where the MTY Group is based as well. Company owners, Steve Morency and Frederic Matte will remain with the brand. We are very proud to have built a strong, successful network, filled with potential and growth opportunities.” indicated Morency while Matte assured that 100% of the Yuzu Sushi team will remain in place to assure continuity of the brand’s values.
Eric Lefebvre, CEO of MTY, indicated that Yuzu Sushi is an exciting recent brand with a devoted customer base with tremendous growth potential.
The transaction is still subject to many customary conditions before closing, which is normal for a for this kind of transaction.
